Over time i have trained and put this tutorial into combat and has tough me a lot, i dedicate this in memory of Bullet Leader aka john. Great memories i say
ALL OF THESE ARE FOR CLASSIC OPS
'Middle shooting'
Alot of tanks move back and forth back and forth. Simple aim in the middle of their movments and shoot non stop. Most players will run into the weapons fire and kill themselves.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Backshots'
* A backshot is when u see him BEHIND you on radar and you shoot in the OPPOSITE direction and hit him.
* In Desert Ops you can shoot YOURSELF with backshots. I heard of a player that was FIGHTING HIMSELF.
Backshots are hard but even if you miss you can make him turn around and go in a new direction.
By shooting at him then using a backshot then shooting at him - you confuse many players and make them easier to kill.
By the White Tower if you are on the side between the nades and rockets and he is by the nukes simply shoot into the opposite direction - if he is going back and forth use 'middle shooting' in one spot and he will run into the weapons fire.
Also, if you are in the same positions by the White Tower, with him by the nukes u can shoot in the opposite direction then turn to your right and shoot between the valley where the nukes are and the Pit with the shield and you will have him in your sights.
If he is in the Pit with the 'power power' (not shield) and you are by the nades near the valley shoot to the right side of the White Tower and watch the radar to aim your shots.
If you are in the valley to the left of the nukes and he is going for the nades by the White Tower go up high and aim just over the right side of the Pit with the shield, watch radar for aiming - it is an easy shot.
If you are on the left side of the Pit with the 'Power power' and he is going for the rockets in the valley shoot to 'lanes' to the left of the Hill (theres only one Hill) and watch radar for aiming.
'Lanes' =too see them go non graphics and you will see the map in squares. A lane is a line of squares. From the left side of the Power Pit aim 2 lanes to the left of the Hill at the rockets in the valley - its an easy shot.
From the right side of the Power Pit or Sink, if he is in the valley on the hill between the rockets and nukes, go back and forth over that side of the Pit, aim at him then turn to your right and shoot between the Pit with the shield and the top of the valley between the nukes and rockets -watch radar, this really confuses alot of ppl - especially if you shoot, then backshoot, then shoot then backshoot...etc.
When you are in the Pit with the shield and he is above the Pit with the Power, go back and forth over the right side of the pit, aim at him then turn and backshoot over the left side of the Pit with the power. Do this the same way, shoot, backshoot, shoot, backshoot.
* REMEMBER that you can reverse all of these. If YOU are near the nades in the valley and he is near the right side of the Pit with the power you can turn and backshoot him by watching the radar-- etc.
'Don't respawn quickly'
When you are killed in a rated op do not return quicky. If you hurt the other tank then yoiu die, if someone else kills him before you return you get a point or two. So watch him and wait for him to be killed then go back into the game.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Move!'
When you first enter an op you take a second before you can move. The instant you enter click anywhere immediately! This way you move quickly and are not a sitting duck for that 'long second'.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Rocket Ready'
When you are in a duel and you kill the other tank switch to rockets and watch the radar. When he will reappear he will have that 'long second' delay. If he respawns close to you can hit him with a rocket before he can move.
* With noobs this shot should be done right at him - with better players who know to move the second they reappear shoot IN FRONT of the tank - he will move into the weapons fire.
'RNN'
RNN, or one rocket and two nukes if the fastest kill. If you hit him with a rocket the instant he appears you can then go to nukes and after 2 hits he explodes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'The Quick Shot'
When you go over any hill you can shoot even before you are aimed at the tanks. Practice this. As he is about to come into view click fire! - it takes the tank a second to shoot - that way you hit as fast as possible.
Practice coming over any hill and quick shooting a rocket then quickly change to nukes, fire 2 shots and he explodes. You can kill a tank at full power even before he can turn and shoot you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Be Invisible'
Nothing drives an opponent crazier than having no idea where you are. Stay OFF his radar and shoot, back shoot, shoot, backshoot, moving to stay off his radar - it will drive them crazy and many players will simply quit because you are 'too good'.
*YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HIT THEM. Even if you miss, as long as you come close they will turn changing direction, then you shoot from the other direction and they turn again, then you go back and shoot from the other direction ans they turn yet again...
it drives them nutz.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Close Up Nukes'
When your tank is very close to another tanks - use nukes. Most of the time he will explode - and you will not.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Sniper'
Up close even a zero can kill you fast. They come right at you and fire rockets non stop.
STAY AWAY. Snipe with nukes and look for tanks that are on fire - one shot equals a kill.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Radar Shooting'
This is my favorite! When it works, and it works often - its the 'greatest shot' - when the other tank is on radar he IS in your sights. You do not have to see him or his nic to fire.
Use radar ALONE to aim and fire! When he explodes he will be in shock - (How the heck did he do that? and you will be far from him and out of his sights.
You will be amazed at the shots you can make from a 'mile away'- if you have alot of rockets for example just fire alot of them in 'that direction' -its the kewlest shot there is.
Aim by Radar - and fire!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Energy is your Best Friend'
Where to stay in an op?
In any battle the high ground has the advantage. But, you have to know how to use it.
When Napoleon attacked Germany they laughed -it had been 'tried' many times before.
The germans had the high ground and waited for Napoleon's forces to arrive.
Napoleon sent his army up the hill with the German cannons pointed at them. They attacked and the german cannons destroyed them - the germans laughed.
Then Napoleon raised his sword and waved it - from behind him swift riders on horses charged up the hill and overtook the germans before they could reload their cannons- France won.
The germans had the high ground but didnt know how to use it.
Stay on top of the Valley - you can shoot ALL over. Just look for tanks that are one fire - one nuke = one kill.
If you get hit get energy and get back on top -stay OUT of the valley except to get energy.
If you are being shot at from inside the valley simply go on the other side and nade him - YOU have the advantage- your nades land on flat ground and explode near him hurting him - when he nades you - you are on the side of a hill - most of his nades even if they would have been hits on flat ground - do not hit you - they keep going past you.
If you are being shot from outside the valley simply go into the valley and move back and forth on the inside of the hill and keep nading.
* Position yourself over energy. If you get hit get energy and keep nading.
Ive seen ppl stay on top - get hurt and then have to CROSS the Valley to get energy - they dont always make it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
' Tanks Get Closer'
Watch any fight and what do noobs do?
As they fight they get CLOSER, and closer, and closer, and closer, and many times they both die.
If you want to be smart STAY AWAY.
When you die WATCH the op. And WAIT for them to start getting closer to each other.
Then when you come in not only are they both together so you do not have to worry about where one of tanks are or of him shooting you from behind they both are hurt and busy.
*WHICH ONE DO YOU SHOOT??
You shoot the BETTER player. This way its 2 VERSE 1. Its you and another tank verse the better player.
He explodes then its easier to kill the second tank.
I have watched an op until 3 TANKS were close together - all GOOD players - (even good players do this) then Ive gone in an KILLED ALL THREE TANKS.
I say, 'Toooo easy and then leave'.
I was in the op for 30 seconds and got three kills. Its a good way to get respect.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Triangle'
Other than WATCH THE RADAR - WATCH THE RADAR - WATCH THE RADAR (an KNOW which DOT is you) - this is the most important......the TRIANGLE.
When you enter and op often you are surrounded.
What do you do?
* Make them fight EACH OTHER.
Think of a triangle - if you appear in the middle of 2 tanks you can ofter move away so that you are the 'top' of the triangle - move in the direction that brings the other two tanks CLOSER to EACH OTHER. Many times they will start fighting EACH OTHER. You actually MAKE them fight each other. If you are hurt run - and nade as you head toward energy.
If you AREN'T hurt badly - What do you do?
Thats right - shoot the BETTER player, so its 2 verses 1. Then kill the easy player.
If you ARE HURT BADLY run from the fight and get energy - you can nade the whole time. Get energy THEN fight.
You can also SHOOT all of the remaining energy in the Valley so he cannot get it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
' Allies'
If you want easy points go watch an op -always WATCH first.
I used to jump into ops that had one player while watching from the lobby - only to discover that the op was empty - now you have to wait forever or simply leave and lose points by leaving.
Look at their records IN THE OP - not their points or rank.
* If you look at their RANK you may run from a Banker right into MS 13 or Maddie42. Rank means nothing - there are alot of Nic Hiders these days.
*Nic Hider - a very good player using a nic with a low score.
Take the Bottom 2 or 3 players and mark them as ALLIES.
In the op hunt Only Them.
You can go 20/4, if you dont have lag or a top player in the op, without trying hard.
What I like to do is mark the Best player as an Ally and hunt him - he is usually a 'point watcher' and will run from the op after lsoing a few points then the noobs are sitting ducks without other hunters competing for the prey.
* Watch this - some Hunters take this as a CHALLENGE and will then hunt only YOU.
* Many times even if you do NOT talk to another Hunter - if you avoid him - he will simply avoid you. Hes there for the same reason - to get points. You leave him alone and he leaves you alone. Otherwise you spend the whole time fighting each other and you both lose. Which is fine unless your goal at the moment is to 'get points'.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'LEAVE!'
Some ops look like the noobiest ops in the noobiest section of noobland- seriously - if youve ever played one handed in ops and simply couldnt be killed you know what I mean.
But, sometimes these noob ops get you killed- alot.
You don't get it.....WTH?
SO YOU TRY AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN...and you keep dying.
* Watch the talk......if you see someone simply say 'k'.
Someone just Teamed.
They may be noobs but many of them hate high scores entering an op and cry 'banker'.
They will team and only hunt You.
If you keep getting killed - leave.
You know you have been in ops with all high scores and kicked all their tanks - you know you can play - and you cant accept that this is happening ...but it is...simply Leave!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Get Help'
The other day I entered an op with a bunch of Lieutenants and they hunted me - I couldnt respawn without three tanks instantly shooting me......fine.
I went to the looby and got Bullet10 and Bullet13 .....we went in............
I never saw so many tanks explode so fast! Boom-Boom-Boom!
Then just as fast I was 4/1 and only Bullets remained - they ALL RAN OUT OF THE OP.
That was kewl as h3ll.
So, if youre being outgunned send out the call.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'He is NOT there - Shoot Him!'
......You are on the left side of the Pit with Power you see on radar a tank is going for the Rockets in the valley....shoot THE ROCKETS with rockets non-stop.
He will drive INTO your rocket fire.
Watch the radar...he is Out of view...he is About to come Into view...shoot at THAT SPOT....he will drive INTO your fire.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Only Hide - when you are playing Tanx'
When do you hide?
ALWAYS
Don't stay out in the open...if you are near the White Tower and another tank appears shoot at him...try to shoot where HIS SHOT will come from--ofter your shots will collide and you will not be hurt.
Most of the time ANOTHER tank will come into view and he will forget about You and They will start fighting.
(Never forget about a tank you were just shooting at- more than likely he has not forgotten about you)
Now, simply come out from behind the White Tower and shoot at him again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'The Peek Shot'
If you are near anything such as the White Tower and you are in a fight with another tank simply go behind the Tower then 'peek' out and shoot at him...be careful he may be timing your back and forth motion, change up the timing and tempo.
You can watch the radar so you know generally Where he is and When you need to fire. Peek, shoot, hide, peek, shoot hide, etc.
* iF he starts nading you simply BACK AWAY from him so his nades fall short and continue to peek, shoot, hide, peek, shoot, hide, etc.
If you are hurt you can keep him busy by peeking and shooting as you 'Back Away' TOWARD energy.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Rockets, Nades, or Nukes?'
Some players a great with nukes, but they are terrible with nades.
* If you are playing someone and they are great with one weapon make them use the Other One.
For example, he is great with nades - you want to move so you see each other then use rockets and nukes to get him into a 'gun fight' and kill him.
If he is great with nukes or rockets simply get out of his sight and nade him until he explodes as his nades miss you.
ALL OF THESE ARE FOR CLASSIC OPS
